A Blog About Dresses (& Other Clothing)
Alright, let me start off by telling you why I love Candy's dress in this picture so much. Candy could have been wearing a simple outfit, jeans and a t-shirt, but what really makes this picture unique is the flowy dress in contrast with the ocean. The picture would not have had the same, fairy-tale feel if she had been wearing jeans. This dress is especially nice, because it compliments the colors of the overcast day, and is flowy, just like the ocean behind her.
In the picture above, the dress works equally well. With a slight violet tint at the top, it really stands out against the purple flowers surrounding her. If you know me, you know that I LOVE pictures like this. A pretty dress in a natural setting just really stands out. It's out of the ordinary, which makes the picture more interesting.
Again, same dress. The light violet top really stands out against the dark gray rock, and the flowy sleeves add a nice touch. I don't think this picture would have the same effect if she was wearing a very simple tee and some ripped jeans.
In contrast to the dress that Candy was wearing above, the leather jacket Candy is wearing for these photos contrasts really well against this more urban background. The black jacket stands out from the red, and gives the picture a very different kind of mood.
More grungy, less princess-y.
If you're planning a shoot with me, I will almost always ask for pictures or a description of what you're planning on wearing. I think it's very important to tie in outfits to the location in order to make the pictures more memorable and unique.
And you can almost never go wrong in a pretty dress.
