Last Friday, I woke up early to do one of the first sunset shoots I had done in a while. It was supposed to be a nice, clear day, and everything was so green and lush, I couldn't wait to get out and take pictures. On this day, I was grateful to have Chloe B. to model for me. We found a green field to start off our morning...
After exploring this area a bit, we went to a field right by my house, and Chloe put on her second outfit. If you've ever planned a shoot with me, you'll know that I almost always suggest bringing a three-quarter or maxi dress if you have one. I love to take pictures in natural settings where the model is a little bit too formal that she seems almost out of place. I think this directs a lot of attention towards the person in the photo while still embracing the nature surrounding them.
The final location we visited was my favorite. We had just pulled off the freeway when I saw a field of yellow wild-flowers to the side of the road, right next to an open field. I pulled over to this area, and Chloe was more than willing to sift through the field so I could get some awesome pictures of her surrounded by flowers. We even got to emphasize her tattoo of a wildflower within the field of yellow. These were some of my favorite pictures to date, and I hope you like them as much as I do!
I feel so lucky to have opportunities within photography that take me to places like flower fields at sunrise or the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. I was incredibly happy with everything about this shoot, and am even happier that spring is finally here!
Let me know what pretty places you're headed off to this spring!
If you have any questions about this particular shoot or how I get images like this, please feel free to ask and I'll answer them in my next blog post.
